Dear Friend,

In August of this year, after thoughtful consideration, I decided to run for governor of Wisconsin, as a Democrat.

Currently, we are facing considerable challenges to improve the lives of all Wisconsinites. With fresh, capable leadership in Madison and an energized citizenry, we will meet these challenges. I put my energy and long-time business experience at the service of our great state. Just as our state's motto has signaled since 1851, we will move FORWARD.

I began my campaign by focusing on the high rate of unemployment of our state's black men. The numbers are staggering. In parts of our state, between 50-60% of our black male citizens are without jobs. This is unconscionable! This social challenge affects us all by miring Wisconsin in the muck of over burdened social programs and an over loaded justice system.

To meet this test head on, I need your personal and financial help. Other candidates have a head start and are raising money rapidly, but they lack my focus and fierce commitment to addressing and solving one of our great social injustices.

With little money, though lots of passion, our campaign has had a fruitful beginning. Our coverage has included three T.V. news interviews, numerous print stories, a ten-minute interview on a La Crosse radio station that turned into an hour discussion on black male joblessness, and an hour on Ben Merens' Wisconsin Public Radio show "At Issue" that brought calls from throughout the state. In order to get more media coverage and support our campaign efforts, we need your help.

To continue our state's journey towards greatness, please consider contributing to our campaign. Will you support our cause by donating $25, $50 or $250, or by volunteering your time?

Visit our website at www.timjohnforgovernor.com to learn more and support our efforts with your contribution. We need your help to keep the wheels of the campaign moving forward.

In the spirit of the season, let's reunite black families by helping black dads find jobs, showing the rest of the country that Wisconsin will confront and solve a crucially important social problem. Then we will go forward and resolve other major problems facing us.

Inspired by what is right and motivated to act on our beliefs as concerned citizens of this great state, there is no problem we cannot overcome.

Thank you for your support.

Most sincerely,

Tim John
