1.25.10 — By Tim John
Hello Friends,
January brings us new supporters as we march toward the September
primary. Monday saw me at a celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. in
Milwaukee, where I was inspired by people of all ages declaring and
demonstrating their love for Brother Martin and his message.
Before explaining the rest of our campaign, I ask that we consider the
difficult matters on our neighboring island, Haiti. Let's help them move
past their immediate suffering, toward a solid foundation of healthy self
sufficiency.
On Monday evening at the Edgewater Hotel in Madison, I met Lieutenant
Governor Barbara Lawton. Our Thursday Meet and Greet at Birdie's Cafe in
Milwaukee saw good speeches and on Saturday morning I attended a session of
Community Brainstorming at St. Matthew's C.M.E. Church in Milwaukee, where,
after heartfelt informative presentations, I met many solid citizens and
local politicians.
On Wednesday January 27th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., at Coffee Makes You Black
at 2803 North Teutonia Avenue, Milwaukee, we will host another campaign
event, where discussions, speeches, and a question and answer session will
fill the converted bank building. Please attend to see why our campaign
will make real changes, not just talk about them.
Our campaign hinges on reducing the rate of unemployed black men in our
cities, where the deteriorating condition has caused broken families, poor
educational results, depression, hopelessness, and too many people in
prison. I will continue to focus the campaign on this matter, not relenting
until these men are returned to the economic fabric of our state. It is
reinvigorated black men who will create jobs, reduce taxes, and improve
education for us all . . . for us all.
Please join me in bringing unemployed black men, who are suffering such
indignities, into our state's economic life. This act will bring many
benefits, as they then will reach out to help others, who are in difficult
situations.
We completed our first campaign video, now seen on YouTube, called
Introducing Tim John for Governor. This video presents me jogging, kicking
snow, and proclaiming, “I love Wisconsin.” Please pass it along to
many, many of your friends and family. We need your help to overcome the
wide gulf in fundraising between the other major candidates and our grass
roots campaign. Help us to send Wisconsin skyrocketing toward greatness.

Find it in your hearts to send in a financial contribution. Consider
donating $20, $200, or $2,000 or contact our campaign office at (414)
273-2010 to schedule a coffee or fund raiser at your home. I am happy to
present a 10-15 minute speech. Face to face contact is what makes our
campaign stand out above the rest.
We will stay the course.

Greetings,
Let's take a moment to remember the Haitians, who have seen so much of
their already difficult world crumble around them; such suffering.
Our campaign progresses, with new supporters flocking to us daily.
Today I will attend events surrounding Martin Luther King, Jr., who
taught me to believe that we can work toward a world of acceptance for
everyone.
This week, on Thursday January 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., I will attend a
“meet and greet” at Birdie's Cafe, 4110 West Martin Drive, (near
MillerCoors) Milwaukee. Birdie's is a warm and inviting cafe, so please
come.
On Wednesday January 27, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., we will have another
“meet and greet” at Coffee Makes You Black, at 2803 North Teutonia
Avenue, Milwaukee, to discuss black male joblessness in Wisconsin. Please
attend and show your support for my candidacy and this vital issue facing
us all.
This past Wednesday I spoke at Coffee Makes You Black before an eager
crowd who, after listening, asked lots of probing questions and offered
many workable solutions. Eugene Thurman and my wife, Karri John
Fritz-Klaus, also spoke eloquently that evening.
On Saturday, I attended a birthday party for State Reps. Annette Polly
Williams and Frederick Kessler at Stella's on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Drive, Milwaukee. While there, I had an impromptu extensive discussion with
a sitting Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice. Later that day, I listened and
then spoke at a meeting of the United Alliance of Day Care Providers, who
are hurt and angry at their perception that the state has judged them
harshly without regard to their individual circumstances.
On the educational side, last week I spent a half day substitute teaching
Spanish at my son's school in Pewaukee. The 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th grades
demanded different parts of my mind and personality. I am humbled by these
wonderful children and all teachers, who daily impart knowledge and life
lessons to their students. My Spanish, though rusty, came on strongly when
I needed it.

Hello Everybody,
Please join us this Wednesday, January 13, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at
Coffee Makes You Black, our second campaign office at 2803 North Teutonia
Avenue, Milwaukee. It promises to be a wonderful opportunity to meet with
me and other vital speakers. We will make history at this event.
I witnessed history in the making last Monday, when my mother and I
attended the installation of The Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki, as the
11th Archbishop of Milwaukee. Many noted religious and secular people
welcomed Archbishop Listecki.
This past week re-energized the campaign. Lots of new people are now
hearing and getting the message of our campaign. We have been approached by
enthusiastic supporters with boundless energy and workable ideas. And we
have only just begun! This past Thursday opened with a spot on WFAW 940 AM
in Fort Atkinson with the host of Morning Magazine Michael Clish helping to
spread my name around the state.
On that same day, I was the sole guest from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on WMCS
1290 AM Evening Rush, where I fielded tough questions from Earl Ingram and
numerous callers. We debated and addressed issues concerning our central
cities, in the realms of black male joblessness and our criminal justice
system.
On Saturday morning Dwayne Block of the Oconomowoc Democrats welcomed
many candidates to a breakfast, where we each spoke for 5-10 minutes. I
focused on ways the state Democratic Party could improve internally rather
than focusing on criticizing the Republicans. The talks were thought
provoking and compelling, catapulting me mentally as I addressed fellow
Democrats. Our message rang loud and clear; now people are listening!
Thank you for your continued words of encouragement and support. Now we
must continue to recruit more supporters to our “beacon of hope”.
Please help us get the word out. Visit our website at www.timjohnforgovernor.com to learn
more.
Please forward our emails to 15 of your friends and relatives this week.
Encourage them to follow our crusade and check out our web site. We need
your dollars because we work under the shadow of the war chests of the
other candidates. Please find it in your hearts to send in a financial
contribution. Consider donating $20, $200, or $2,000 by January 20 or
contact our campaign office at (414) 273-2010 to schedule a coffee or fund
raiser at your home. I am happy to present a 10-15 minute speech. Within
the venue of a “meet and greet” event, face to face contact is what
makes our campaign stand out above the rest.
We will stay the course.

Happy New Year to all! Let's work together to make 2010 the beginning of a
decade of dreams. Join me in a New Year's resolution to remember those who
have, in the past, been largely forgotten. Let's stretch out our hands in
benevolence to those who have not always shared in the blessings we have.
As we all struggle during this time of economic strife, we have a greater
empathy for those who experience this oppression on a continual basis. Let
us be nobler and show mercy to others. Let us become a humanizing influence
on those around us, for we are all connected. Everything we do affects others
throughout the state.
My campaign for governor is focused on black male joblessness. I am asking
you to make a personal effort to effectuate a positive change on this blight on
Wisconsin. Hire an unemployed black man. Volunteer as a mentor. Send
words of encouragement. Make this your New Year's resolution. Let's all
resolve to make a difference in 2010 and in the future of our great state.
Some campaign events that you may attend or follow are:
Thursday January 7, appearance on Earl Ingram's radio show Evening Rush on WMCS 1290 AM, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Saturday January 9, appearance at OconDems Breakfast at The Depot at 10 a.m. at the Oconomowoc Train Depot 10:00 a.m. 5-10 minute talk along with other candidates.
Wednesday January 13, 5:30-7:00 p.m. "meet and greet" at my 2nd campaign office at Coffee Makes You Black, 2803 North Teutonia Avenue, Milwaukee.
Faithfully and devotedly yours,
Tim John
